On January the 13th, 2009, Tuesday evening, the students of the Christian centre “Alpha & Omega” met as a family in the cozy comfortable hall of Dimitrova St, 19. Everybody knows for sure that Christmas and New Year bring miracle presents and meetings. This evening had a meeting that was a gift for us. They say in Ukraine: “Better to have a hundred of friends, rather than a hundred of hryvnas!” We have more than a hundred of friends in Jesus, all over the world. One of them, Rev.Robert Bugbee, a pastor from Canada, visited us. Our meeting with him was truly interesting and fruitful! Rev.Robert Bugbee shared with us very clearly about important and valuable topics, speaking from the wisest book, the Bible. It is great that everybody can find in it an answer to any necessary question. Rev.Robert Bugbee encouraged us to work on God’s field of harvest, helping people in a sacrificial way. The discussion with Robert was anything but boring, as bright, fun, humorous examples of his own life and the life of his family added a special flair to the meeting. The worship team “X-Press” created a sprightly pleasant musical background. All of us asked questions and received full answers from Rev.Robert. The frost was crackling on the windows, it was a real winter outside, like a fairytale. So hot tea with cookies was an extremely welcome addition, prepared by the loving hands of those on duty in "Alpha & Omega" that day. We could have continued our talk with Robert Bugbee for a longer time, but the next day most of us had to go to work, or to study and exams; for many people January is a very busy time. Praise the Lord that we all had an opportunity to visit this meeting. We are looking forward to future meetings like this one! Rev.Robert Bugbee was elected as president of the Lutheran Church of Canada on the 6th of June, 2008. Lutheran Church of Canada includes over 300 churches and about 70.000 church members. Before this Rev.Bugbee was serving as a pastor in different communities in Canada for 26 years. Rev.Robert and Gale Bugbee are married for 28 years and have four children, two girls and two boys. The last church that he was a minister in was Holy Cross Church in Kitchener. This church has over a thousand of members. Today the pastor of this church is Rev.Roland Syens, who has previously served for 13 years as a missionary in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine. |
